City walls, Bourges


Late Roman city walls, built using stone from earlier buildings.  Bourges cathedral is in the background.

There's something special about a wall that's lasted so long, even with its vegetation.

Interesting! Apparently Bourges has (like many French cities) a fascinating history going back to Roman and Celtic times.
