Shop window
This building will have been a shop in medieval times. It has the typical window opening through which goods would have been sold. The doorway was beside it, now blocked off.
This really catches the eye, doesn't it? The brickwork and repairs. Looks sort of jail-like though. I guess nowadays you have to be careful. Even the little dungeon window below conjures up stories. Maybe for medieval customers who didn't pay.
Actually, I'm guessing that is for some sort of delivery. Coal, maybe.
I think the window reinforcements are because there are no shutters. It may even be an insurance requirement. Yes, I think the opening below is for coal deliveries, or was.
